Big Basstrumpet in Bb by Josef Lidl, 3V, raw brass, Free P&P
I sell this used Bb Basstrumpet made in a master workshop Josef Lidl in Czech Republic. The factory was established in 1892 and always produced high quality musical instruments in a limited numbers. For this reason are instruments by Josef Lidl relatively rare and you will not see them often. High workmanship, limited series, custom production. It describes Josef Lidl's factory.
This trumpet has a small shank and you can use a standard small shank trombone mouthpiece,

Cosmetical condition
The state of the trumpet is relative clean and without big damage. Of course, due to the age of the instrument, on the body are located some small dings, scratches and shabby places. There are tiny dings on the leadpipe and other pipes on the whole body. Please look on photos carefully. I tried to capture the overall condition of the instrument on photos.
On the bell is engraved: "Josef Lidl", "NH5". I think, that "NH5" was the marking of an military band
It was used. You can expect a state of normal wear and tear.
Sound and tuning
The instrumet has a strong, resonant and crispy sound. It sounds like something between trumpet and trombone. You can get an colorfull tone which is very unusual. Basstrumpets were very often used by famous composer Richard Wagner. He needed in his monumental operas a different sound to supplement fanfare section between trumpets and trombones.
